  • One of the largest privately owned ship builders/shipyards in Bangladesh having capacity to dock 2 vessels up to 350 feet in length at a time.

Karnaphuli Shipyard Ltd. 08/07/2008 Ship Repairing
  • Formed with the objective of 100% export oriented Ship Construction. 
  • At present most of the repair works are carried out under the banner of this company, though some new building was also done. 
  • Main works are; M V Monirul Haque (500 hp Passenger Ship of BIWTC), 900 hp K-Type Ferry (Kaberi) of BIWTC & 25 (twenty five) nos. of Terminal Pontoons for BIWTA.
Vosta-LMG Karnafuly Joint Venture Consortium Ltd. 20/12/2009 Dredger and Ancillary Crafts & Equipment Building
  • A Joint Venture Consortium by KSBL was made with VOSTA LMG BV, a world renowned Dutch-German Company in dredger technology in 2009.
  • Under this Joint Venture three 450 mm Cutter Suction Dredgers (CSD) were built in Bangladesh for the first time and delivered to BIWTA in 2010. Two more 650 mm CSDs was delivered to BWDB in 2012. Construction of 13 more dredgers is going on for BIWTA and BWDB, 10 (ten) nos. of which will be delivered by 31 July, 2014.
Karnafuly Cold Storage 03/07/2008 Storage of Fish, Fruits & Other Items
  • In order to provide the services of preserving vegetables, shrimps and other sea fishes before export to foreign countries and also to other cities of the country and to preserve different types of fruits (e.g., apple, orange, grapes, etc.) imported from different developed countries before delivery to Dhaka and other cities, a cold storage (500 tonnes capacity) has been established.

  • to flourish the fishing business including deep sea trawling and fishing in Bangladesh, Karnafuly Sea Fishers were established in 2008
  • It has 5 (five) nos. of Fishing Trawlers. The fishing vessels are; FV Dhaka (260 tons), F.V Tornado-1 (218 tons), F.V Tornado-2 (218 tons), F.V. Chattagram (190 tons) & F.V. Comilla (250 tons).
